History
Officially organized on April 15, 1853, the Marblehead Police Department is one of the oldest police departments in the United States.

Museum
Memorabilia from the archives of the department is displayed at the Marblehead Police Department Museum.
The museum is located on the first floor of the Old Town House on Washington Street. The Old Town House was also the first headquarters for the police department.
The museum is open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm between May 1 and October 1 and can be made available for group tours by calling Lieutenant Dave Millett at 781 631-1212 ext. 606.
